Dear Readers,

Forever JONES is a family contemporary gospel band consisting of 7 members.  They write together, praise together, and truly sings music that will move you.  I had been watching Bounce TV and this special presentaion presented by Walmart came on called "Forever JONES Holiday."  It was nice seeing families be families.  I love hearing about family history along with the soundtrack of songs that they wrote.  Check them out !

New Years Resolutions!

   Dear Readers,

I really cannot believe people are knocking down other people's resolutions.  All over trending something along the words of "You shouldn't make Resolutions for 2013 because you will not do them..... In my case I disagree.  In 2012 I got all serious on things I needed to change about myself for the better.  Change is good.  If change didn't occur most of those trending #Noresolutions wouldn't have that new Samsung Galaxy III.  Any who, here is a list of the resolutions I made and followed through with in 2012.

-Not to argue with my honey about small little things.
-Eat Healthy [plus drink plenty of water] Stop Drinking Sugary Beverages.
-Use 90% natural products for hair and skin.
-Do 30mins of physical activity every day.

These things work just as long as you evaluate how you will go about them.  I visualize the situations and find alternatives. My will power is strong.

So for 2013 my resolutions are as listed.  Some I may start earlier.  Remember resolutions are also goals [short and long term].  Don't let anyone tell you you can't.  Rome wasn't built in a day. Revisions and changes =]

-Make more YouTube videos [renarena2007]
-Save money better so I can travel to visit family
-Conquer my fear of driving
-Tone my body
-Try out a fast

Change is good. Love is Love. Happy Holidays!

Miguel Scores 5 Grammy Nominations! R&B is Back!

Dear Readers,

Join me in congratulating this amazing artist Miguel.  His voice is like no other, yet I haven't felt this way about a male artist since Prince! And I adore Prince!  I hope that this is your year Miguel!!!!  His new album is like a mind trip.  It's a good one though don't worry.  I have to sip my wine to this.  Sensual, conscious, velvety greatness....  I love the water sounds he makes!

Pick up Miguel's "Kaleidoscope Dream ."  I am getting the vinyl to play on my record player!
"Look Up Sugar!"

Achieve Tranquility

Dear Readers,

You may be very busy this time of year with work, sales, social lives, family.  Take some time to relax and enjoy yourself with a spa night.

Supplies You Will Need:

-Cucumbers.  Not only are they great for eye covers, they are refreshing and healthy!

-White Wine Spritzers.  If you are the legal age a Minty Fruitful White Whine Spritzers is refreshing.  There are recipes all over the Internet.  If you do not indulge in Wine or are underage, Bubble Tea, Regular Tea, & Virgin Drinks are fun!

-Fresh, Clean Hand Towels.  Have an abundance on hand! Helps with splashes.  Warm them in the dryer for some relaxation!  They can be any color.  Research moods and colors.  I'd really choose a lavender color paired with lavender soy candles.=]

-Foot Baths, Paraffin Wax Kits, or Buckets.  These things range from $20 and up.  But a bucket will do just fine. Add your favorite Bath Salts, Scrubs, and Oils and Flowers!  You can make your own to save money using simple ingredients found in your kitchen. http://beauty.about.com/od/skinflaws/ht/saltscrub.htm

More: Create a CD with some smooth love songs, or spa songs. [I prefer soul music like Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, etc.  Youtube has spa Play list to make it even easier just press play.  Finger foods.  Something light and not heavy.  Lettuce Wraps, Cucumber Sandwiches, Shrimp Cocktail, Ceviche. * Tip for beverages use frozen fruit instead of ice cubes so your beverage will retain a fresh flavor.  Incense or candles set the mood.  Be safe when dealing with flames.   Pick some oils too!

I am doing this on Saturday and it will include a Mani/Pedi, Massage, Facial, and Girl Talk.

Happy Spa Day,

Prim & Purple

Welcome 2013 w/ Bandage and Peplum

Dear Readers,

Are you looking for that New Years Dress? Or Valentine's Day 2013 Dress? Or Just inspiration?  Well here are two different style dresses that are sure to make your day!

First let's think about comfort.  You really shouldn't wear a dress that you have to spend the whole time pulling down because it keeps rising.  Also, if you drop something you shouldn't worry about that happening either.   If you will take a look at these two different styles 'Bandage' and 'Peplum' you should take a look at the length they are not mini dresses.  Also there are slips you can wear to help with dress rising. They come in many different sub styles [off the shoulder, turtlenecked, etc.].  I love amazon.com and these two particular one's can be found there.

Remember When Cats Used to Harmonize like....

.....L.Boogie

Now I know that L.Boogie has been going through a bunch but I just remember when I first purchased her Album.  The Miseducation of .... All I would do for days on end is stare at the beautiful picture inserts and memorize the lyrics of course.  I always thought she was cutting class thinking about what was said in the album. ;]

Michael Jackson Bad 25

We all know that there is a re-release on Michael Jackson's 'Bad' Album to celebrate M.J.'s 25th Anniversary of this album.  Bad was his 7th album, and to many, it was a favorite. Now I may be one who still believes M.J. exist in the stars just as he did in 'Moonwalker,' but you have to admit it his aura is still present and when you listen to his music or see his image, something sparks inside.  Spike Lee @SpikeLee tweeted that he had a documentary that was going to air on ABC.  I immediately tuned in the next day.  The documentary is 123mins [reminds me of Jackson 5 'ABC,123..'.  I am not sure if the whole doc was aired because it didn't seem this long.  If not I do believe there is a DVD to purchase to view the full documentary.

Thanks to Spike Lee and those who made appearances in this documentary, I feel like I know someone whom I never had the chance to meet in this life.  I smiled, cried, and was inspired to do something great.
